warts

Whether you are discussing genital warts, anal wars, plantar warts, common warts or any other type of wart they all have something in common.

People that have warts all want them gone as quickly as possible.

When it comes to having warts removed or buying a wart remover you have a lot of options. Not all of the options are available for all warts.

Make them go away

Many warts can be eliminated by using over the counter medication or prescription medication. For some warts the wart remover is a surgical procedure and others it is a procedure that is done at a doctor's office. The best way to determine which wart removal technique or product is best for your warts is to ask a qualified physician.

Wart remover types

I will list a number of techniques that I have read and let you make your own choice. I recommend that you ask your doctor if it is a sound wart remover prior to trying it yourself. One wart remover that is popular is the use of salicylic acid on warts on the hands and feet. Salicylic acid will seep into the wart and eliminate it. This chemical is said to take a few weeks to work if used on a daily basis and works best on damp skin.

There are some doctors out there that say that duct tape will help to get rid of your warts. The idea is that the tape irritates the wart and the close by skin which makes the body thinks it is under attack and fight back. Once the wart is destroyed it should be rubbed gently with a pumice stone and repeat the duct tape process. This should work within a couple of months. If you try it and it fails see a doctor. I have not known anyone that used this wart remover but many like it.

Some doctors apply cantharidin and some apply liquid nitrogen as a wart remover. The cantharidin is applied to the wart and over a handful of hours pain is felt by the patient. Once the chemical works its magic the doctor will remove the dead cells and the patient is rid of the wart. It is possible that the doctor may recommend another treatment. In the other method, the liquid nitrogen is applied in a procedure called cryotherapy. The procedure usually requires a few applications over a few weeks.

More options

The last of the removal options are lasers, burning and even cutting. These methods can lead to scarring but are much stronger wart remover choices. Weigh out the pros and cons of all of your options with your doctor and choose the wart remover with the best fit for you. If you know genital warts look like and feel that you have them brace yourself for the possibility that chemical removers may not be available.
